Fall Soccer Season

Jacob's second soccer season was this past Fall.  John decided to coach this season, so he could be more involved with the practices and games.  Jacob LOVED having his dad coach his team!

Because John was coaching he was able to choose Jacob's number before he handed out the jerseys, so he got to stick with #11.  He was pretty excited about that!

One of his good friends from school, Jacoby, was on his team, so that was fun.  It's always nice getting to see and hang out with familiar and friendly faces!

Jacob had a lot of fun this past season and is so looking forward to the Spring soccer season.  I'm pretty sure he'll be playing travel soccer when he's old enough, and honestly (I'm not being biased because he's my kid either) he'll be good enough by then to be on a travel soccer team.  He practices literally all.day.long!

The end of Jacob's *1st* soccer season!!

The beginning of June is when Jacob's very first soccer season wrapped up.  He had so much fun and learned a lot last Spring that he ended up playing again in the Fall.  At this point he's so obsessed, I think he'll be playing soccer for a very long time!

His very last game back in the Spring we had a little party afterward where the kids got to eat and hang out, plus they received their trophies!

John didn't originally sign up to coach, but when help was needed he was eager to be there, and in the end he just ended up being an assistant coach.  In the Fall he signed up to coach his own team!

Jacob was so lucky that his first year playing a team sport and he was playing with a bunch of the kids in his class at school.

We were so proud of our Bubba receiving his first trophy!!  Way to go, Bub!

And, I think he was pretty proud of himself, too.  :)

Prior to the game, I took pictures of all the kids individually to be sent out to the parents and Henry wanted in on the action.  We didn't have a ball, so he just pretended. ;)

Jacob's First Soccer Season!

This past Winter we FINALLY got Jacob all signed up for his first Soccer season.  We kept missing the deadline to enroll him, so he missed it two seasons in a row.  :(  But we checked it early, got it on our calendar and were finally able to get him signed up to play.  Thank goodness we did because he LOVED it and has proven to be quite the little athlete!

His first practice was right at the beginning of April and it was really chilly!  His practice was held at the Community Center, so we were able to just walk from our house to practice.

That following Saturday Jacob had his first game!  All his games were on Saturdays and at the Community Center.  The league he played in went for 6-8 weeks ending in mid-June.

John originally wasn't going to coach Jacob's soccer team, but after the first practice, Jacob's coach reached out to John asking him to help for just one game.  Well ... he ended up being an assistant coach the entire season, and loved it so much that he signed up again to coach his own team in the Fall.

At the end of the season, Jacob's team had a little luncheon and awards ceremony after their last game.  And, Jacob got the coolest trophy!  

He had so much fun and it was a great first-sport experience for him and for us.  We're so excited for the next season!
