Family Weekend!

I'm so behind on my blogging :-/  I'm trying really hard to get caught up though!

This one is from last September when we went to PA for my BIL and new SIL's wedding party.  They got married in St. Lucia last July, but didn't have their "reception" until late September.  I even got to practice my photography skills as their official "photographer".

My MIL outdid herself on their party!  She took care of everything from the decorations right down to the food, cake and drinks.  It was a beautiful early-Fall day with Indian Summer weather.  Just lovely!

We had a lot of fun at their party and wish them a lifetime of happiness. :)  Of course I'm so late with this blog post that their first anniversary is in about a week and a half.  Lol

 

Anyway, on Sunday before we left to go home, my FIL wanted a picture with all four generations of the Zuzik men.  Can you believe it??

 

 

Once we finally got on the road, we stopped in Greensburg to have lunch with my cousins before heading home.  That was fun, as usual!

 

We decided to take Route 30 home instead of the turnpike and that's when John took a detour and decided to show us around Lynn Run.  I can't believe I've never been!  It was a lot of fun exploring and hiking a little bit with the kids even if I wasn't dressed for hiking (can we say "flip flops"? lol).  But, still ... we had fun and I got some really awesome pictures of John and the boys.

 

 

We had a really fun weekend with friends and family as we always do when we go "home" to Pittsburgh.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kindergarten Carnival

Today the PTA at Jacob's school sponsored a carnival for the Kindergarten classes.  We decided to go to hopefully meet some of his friends from school and their parents.  And, we did, in fact, meet ONE little girl from his class and her mother.  That was it!  But, the kids still had a good time.  They got to play on the playground, which I absolutely love the playground at his school.  There were so many fun carnival games for the kids to play, too.  Henry even got to get in on some of the fun, which totally made his day.  Check out these cuties!

First Day of Kindergarten!!

Can't believe my baby started Kindergarten last year!! He's half way through his first year of elementary school - CRAZY!!

September 3, 2013 ... that's the day my baby, my firstborn began his academic journey.  He did so good too!  I was really nervous about the whole idea of putting him on a school bus (with no seatbelts whatsoever) and sending him off to this big, brand new school, but he handled it so great.  The two years prior to this he went to Preschool and had horrible meltdowns resulting in him being dragged out of the car in the carpool line on his first day.  So, as you can see ... I had reason to be nervous and anxious.  But, like I said .. he handled it like a pro.

We were up early that day to make sure we had everything ready to go and to take some "before school" pictures.  Jacob did everything I asked of him in regards to the photos and he even posed with his baby brother.  I think Henry had a harder time that first day than Jacob did!

 

 

 

Gee and Pap came over that day to see Jacob off to school, too, and John stayed home from work.  Everyone wanted to be a part of Bubba's first day of "big guy" school!  After Gee and Pap got there it was time to head on over to the bus stop.  I'll admit that I cried a few tears when he got on the bus, but he never noticed and he didn't even bat a lash.  He turned and gave Daddy and Pap the thumbs up (I didn't get that pic, darnit!) and then got on the bus like such a big boy!

 

 

It's crazy how fast they grow up.  I wish I could just bottle them up and keep them tiny forever!
